German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas Wednesday, 14 March 2018, Berlin, Germany: Saarlander Heiko Maas was invested as Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Cabinet Merkel IV.

Merely a couple of hours after his investiture Minister Maas made a maiden voyage to Paris to meet his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian for bilateral talks concerning EU finances and reforms sought after by both countries.

His second trip on Friday, 16 March took him to Warsaw, capital of neighbouring Poland, to encounter Polish head of diplomacy, Jacek Czaputowicz.

Between 2013 and 2018 Minister Maas served in the function as “Federal Minister for Justice and Consumer Protection”.
