Borell leads Spanish Foreign Ministry 

Thursday, 7 June 2018, Madrid, Kingdom of Spain: Veteran Socialist Worker’s Party politician Josep Borrell Fontelles accepted to take upon himself the duties as Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation.

Until his appointment, Borrell pursued an academic career as a professor at the University of Lleida in Catalonia. From 2004 to 2007 he served as XII President of the European Parliament.
